What is New Gho in Summation?:
"New Gho is a metamodern aesthetic lab which aims to connect those of us lost in our nervous systems back to the sacred mundane. Currently being sold (Though it may change..) is outsider experimentalist works, which include upcycled items, clothing, furniture, prints and original found objects, conceptual pop theory and ontological/process or rather- experiential (phenomenological) works- and, of course-an overall amalgamation of the above "labels" -if you put that all in a blender. What is offered will be ongoingly changing.
I started it originally back in 2000 as "New Ghost" (meaning I would be creating new things from past nostalgic ephemera that I found during traveling- including old ads, old fabrics, things I was learning about in architectural school and as a rookie/hobbyist contemporary art "theorist/historian", and also things I was creating growing up under my mother's clothing manufacturing business. I was combining whatever I was sensing and just naturally exploring whatever came up without really desiring the labels of "artist" or "art historian" or "fashion designer" or whatever, even if I had those technical skillsets. I didn't want to work with rules because I saw that I could quickly out-think quite a bit of them and could see their irrelevance in the end picture of it all. I felt that I couldn't just take on any single defined professional identity, especially when most of the artists and art I saw out there I didn't respect at all because they weren't calling much of anything forth within me, so I was coming from this theory standpoint but also a heavily sensitized/emotive standpoint (which you can have your own arguments about as being separate though they really aren't) so I wanted to feel and say something with what was being created, and more importantly I wanted to create from that space where I was affecting myself, otherwise I knew it wouldn't do much for anyone else, and I didn't want to compromise one or the other at the end of the day.
I originally did everything under the psuedonym 'New Gho/st' because I wanted to stay anonymous, since that in itself contributes to a larger portion of the magic and mystery for people struggling to understand themselves in their own interactions with your work, on different playing fields, and I liked Fucking with those contexts. I was anonymous from 2000 to about 2010 or so.
The first few iterations of the New Gho website were more.... kind of an experiential/experience in navigating the site, than an actual "shop" or "commercial project"- it was all supposed to be this weird art joke for others in the (capital-A) 'Art World'- and ultimately I created an "experiential Art Website" that was designed to be hacked- so all the backups got destroyed just by parchance of the nature of the web and malicious code. I engineered it for it's own natural destruction, which was bound to happen with the ways I designed it for its own exploit- part of a time-based, naturally decaying digital work, which many people still didn't understand the conceptual nature of that as an art joke [Laughter]. I was studying artists like Cory Archangel and Natalie Jeremejenko at the time and was stepping out of purely aesthetics works to see what was possible in the internet/data/code/engineering/digital space, distancing from the phenomenological or scatalogical stuff, and more into pure thought forms- and that was the end result I imagined for a brief speck there. I took a pause after that came to happen, and considering what was next then, I wanted To continue New Gho as this larger Project, and a rebirth-I saw the next step in mind: The shop eventually happened as a larger conceptual art project itself as Initially I wanted to make a "joke storefront" (Which I called "Minimart of love (2009) " as a commentary on these commercialized things I was seeing in the design, music and creative worlds that I did not quite see eye to eye with, other than it was just sort of a hyper-capitalist absurdism, and eventually it became it's own "legitimate" shop in the end, oddly enough, say what you want about hypocrisy or the necessity of self-imposed capitalism or not [Laughter].
So Basically, I know that is not quite a summation, but overall, the shop is dedicated to high/low art combinations with sustainability as a top value and driver based around the hypermodern/metamodern theoretical movement as an overall attempted realization of "unsingular entity" ."- Tali Purkerson Founder of New Gho (You can Read more about Tali Here)

Can you Say more about what is Next for New Gho?:
"Beyond any sort of ecommerce platform, which could quickly become outdated based on what is happening, The vision behind New Gho is to expand and include other items curated and handpicked from underdog artists just as a reminder to the world that we don't have to tolerate mediocrity and inhumane production or even networking in our aesthetics (or practicalities!). Many of our printed items are limited edition, made either in house or sourced by respected and heavily vetted and researched producers or one of a kind Artists (who exist in their own canon per say if you want to get that deep with it...even though the canon definitely ended haha!). Any originals associated with NG, are one of a kind and will most likely be from upcycled, vintage or other materials. Right now I am working on creating an art library here in the Northwest that will house a global collection of art books from all cultures/all age groups and have it sort of a place where people can come to visit. I plan to open submissions soon for that, as it is a whole separate project- that is a longer term, much bigger next plan though in bringing a global community together to showcase based on one's own initiative. Get on the email list for that!
Overall though, The mission is to preserve mystery, enchantment, magic and a little dagger edge in our tooth for that dash of snarl which has overall been lost in our more 'linear', 'rational' and 'mind-based' culture, with it's limitations and general disregard and disrespect for the pure in feeling, and even if I utilize the mind or pure concept stuff it is to bring reminder to those trapped in the mental space back into the feel space, so I seek to integrate these polarities in anything I do- so there is a brain-balanced aspect to everything so it makes sense rationally as well as in feeling and sacred-"isness" for the senses. Anything offered in The New Gho Shop is intended to restore that respect and value of the right brain, the precious, and the magic in the things that are often unnoticed."-Tali Purkerson Founder of New Gho (You can Read more about Tali Here)
What do I need to know about Ordering from the New Gho Shop?:
"Digital prints and original books are shipped out of house. Handmade items are shipped in house. Books may or may not showcase the handmade collections or processes. All handmade items, and clothing save for a few limited edition found objects and original pieces ship under 2 lbs on average. Each item is heavily curated, conceived or conceptualized within the domain of metamodernism and upcycled cross-pollinations by myself personally or whomever I choose to work with or source from, we plan to include profiles of the artists I plan to feature soon so you can really go in depth with them as well.
Currently there are two branches to the Shop- We have a company we have partnered with for some of the more replicable or limited edition items, and the original or 'one of a kind' works (usually fashion or visuals etc) That we ship from in house, at a higher price point, as these are usually one of a kind items. Knowing there is nothing on earth like what has been created and in their hands, We've found it to be one of the best ways to effect and inspire people viscerally and emotionally, while influencing the larger whole of culture to remove themselves from limited ways of going about things."- Tali Purkerson Founder of New Gho (You can Read more about Tali Here)
What Else can you say about New Gho?
"I started doing collage, music, product and fashion design as a way to heal from severe narcissistic and childhood abuse as I was growing up through school, but eventually I realized that the larger culture was so disconnected from the sacred mundane- the slow, process centric aspects of life (that have been conditioned out of us) that I realized that to be a reminder that 'the flaw is the feature' and a reminder for 'the issness of imperfection' is something that would be a much more powerful thing to remind people of-that there is a different way to exist. I wanted to combine my skills in web design, graphic design, my training in architecture and art theory, music, product and fashion design and my own creative works. Eventually I realized I didn't need to worry about certain things- like web design, I could just have someone else do that, and I focused more and more on creative aspects of things.
But overall, since as I was growing up in the world I saw my perception of reality and distinctly in contrast to the limited, mind based, mentalized judgement that was not true reality. I didn't understand why I was seeing things that most people couldn't see or feel. That sense of depth and odd process, along with alchemical embodied understandings, is what I aim to embody in all aspects of this "shop experience"- In comparison to any other experience that might be offered under the "guise of the 'gho". Anything I do or I offer from curated or connected artists or concepts, I hope to offer from that place of distinct reminder of that something which is hyper-ordinary, yet often misunderstood or overlooked." -Tali Purkerson "Founder" of New Gho (You can Read more about Tali Here)
